My Latest Project
Working with Matthew F. Jones on the redesign of his author website ahead of his latest release, A Reckoning Up Black Cat Hollow, was more than a web project — it was a turning point for me professionally.
Matt is a critically acclaimed novelist whose work has been praised by some of the most respected voices in American fiction and adapted into major motion pictures. Designing a site worthy of that legacy while making it accessible and manageable for a writer who simply wants to focus on his craft taught me something important: authors need a trusted technical voice in their corner, and very few have one.
The publishing industry has changed dramatically. Whether traditionally published or self-published, most authors are largely on their own when it comes to building a digital platform. There's rarely meaningful support from publishers for the technical side — the SEO, the web presence, the infrastructure that helps great writing actually get found by the readers searching for it.
Working on Matt's site — and reading his latest book — inspired me to make author websites a cornerstone of what I do. Fifteen years of building WordPress sites led me here, and I couldn't be more energized about where it's going.
